Thank you, internet
topherchris: marco: If such a thing exists, I certainly have an internet addiction. And I don’t care. I have absolutely no desire to be a “normal” member of society, doing whatever normal people do with their time (go upstate and drive boats in circles, then come inside to watch “the game” and grunt occasionally?). I’m very happy here, doing what I’m doing, and being a part of something so...

you know what's messed up?
edatrix: i just spent about $75 on a new French press, Rxs, shampoo, a toothbrush, and toothpaste (sidenote: have you SEEN the toothbrush aisle lately?  there are, like, 100000 different kinds of toothbrushes).  These are all things I need to live and not be cranky or have raging heartburn or really stanky breath. walking home i was bitching to myself about how much things cost and all of that,...

Tumblr MP3 Player
billfutreal: dankantor: Anyone that knows me knows that the first thing I do with new technology is figure out how to make it play music. So it makes sense that a week-or-so in to my Tumblr blog, I would create an mp3 player for it. So here is my first stab at it. You can see it in action at the bottom of this blog. To include it on your page, follow these directions: Go to your Dashboard ...

Adding a gmail account to your gmail account →
I just made this screencast for friends who have recently taken the plunge (and changed names) and want to keep an old email address but begin using a new one seamlessly. This is probably nothing new or exciting to most people here but for folks who are newer to the web, it can be helpful.

via moi I’ve heard horror stories about Jiffy Lube, but never had a bad experience with them myself until today. I think (really hope) the oil change was OK, but the usual “jiffy” customer service just wasn’t happening at this location (Ocean City, MD). I’ve been to this one and others on Maryland’s Eastern Shore in the past and always been very impressed...

CIA Black Helicoptors Today
I’ve heard stories about these on Coast to Coast and read about them a number of times elsewhere. I’ve always thought it plausible that unmarked aircraft runs “black ops” kinds of things (not that I would know anything about this) for CIA, NSA, etc. I was  flabbergasted today when I saw what I presume to be the same set of two (2) unmarked black helicopters, flying low and...

Netflix Value Proposition
mascarah: I am interested to know what people’s average cost per movie “rental” is? For example, since January 1, 2008, I have watched 41 movies via Netflix and I have the $13.99 per 2-movies-at-a-time plan. So I’ve paid about $2.10 per movie including tax. I wonder what $$ per movie most people come in around? Any takers? I was watching all of The Wire and now, all of LOST on the three per week...
