The Palm Pre is coming June 6th to Sprint. I was really hoping it would ship with the Touchstone charging dock kit, but alas — it appears that’ll be a $69.99 add-on.
Personally, I think it’s a huge mistake to release two days before the WWDC keynote — Between iPhone OS 3 and a possible preview of new hardware, I imagine the Pre’s launch will be fairly eclipsed. I suppose time will tell.

Agreed. Launching that close to the day that Apple has a high probability of announcing a new iPhone model is dumb. But will it really matter? The real problem here is Sprint. I knew at least a dozen people that were prepared to leave Verizon for AT&T to get an iPhone after it was announced. Do you know anyone jumping ship for the Pre?
I certainly don’t.

Having experienced AT&T abysmal performance in NYC and total fail during SXSW, I’m ready to switch to Sprint if the Pre is everything it’s supposed to be.

Me too.

Along with about 12,000 others, I was recently laid off from working for Sprint. Part of my severance is that I keep the free Sprint service. With that benefit ending soon and my long time iPhone envy, I have heavily considered leaving Sprint at some point after my benefits are removed, but Palm Pre really has my interest.
I may stay on as a Sprint customer if Pre lives up to the hype. But I really hate the hype!

Ah yes, my severance comes to an end soon. Life is good!
