So, I maintain my current status and I may be selected, etc. That’s probably best since I would not be happy if (when) they dropped the ball in some way… like sending me the wrong email by mistake with links that don’t work (followed by a somewhat insulting apology).

I’m glad to know why the link didn’t work and that this program is on the horizon. Too bad I probably won’t use it even if I am “selected” at some point. HSBC has thoroughly pissed me off with my car note (a ~~long~~ frustrating story I may write about here in the future), so I’ll be dropping any credit offers from them as soon as I’m done with car payments on that account.

Oh, and did they somehow successfully get my previous post REMOVED from Yahoo!? It’s on Google and, according to my referral logs, it led a number of visitors to this site, but is now missing from Yahoo! Could it be that Yahoo! take items out if it’s index when their advertisers demand such nonsense?

One of my issues with retail stores, especially when it comes to gadgets, is that I want the top of the line version of latest/greatest/most popular/etc. and retailers either don’t stock these items until they’re “old” (in web years) or, if they do stock the item, pricing is out of line with what I can get online or in Manhattan.

One of the many benefits offered in this “elite” service from Best Buy’s credit card (by HSBC) is a concierge service.

I guess the intention is good. “E” for effort and all that.

I actually went to a Best Buy to try to buy a Flip video camera before my trip to NY/MA/ME (I am about to head back from Maine in the morning) and decided against it because it was $25 higher and it seemed like a dumb idea after some thought since I am about to get an HTC “Diamond” when I return to work. If this “concierge” program were up and running, I would have impulsivley bought the thing and been happy about it, even at the extra $25 :-)

I absolutely HATE walking into retail stores. Usually, the crowd is bad enough, but on too many visits, employees either don’t have answers or just seem to not want to be there or have any desire to help at all. Wasting my time to visit a store that doesn’t have what I’m looking for in a new item that is popular and available on the market has become an expectation, not an occasional frustration.

So, please, GIVE ME A CONCIERGE!

This would be a good reason why things like birth control and condoms should be used. I find it somewhat humorous that as conservative and religious she is, her daughter just goes and gets knocked up. The daughter plans to marry the dude but I’m a strong believer of not marrying someone because you have a child with them. Things are nice when you are screwing but when the baby pops up, it’s not the same. Then divorce comes it.

Of course, I’m sure in Palin’s delusional mind abortions and birth control shouldn’t exist because her family has the means to raise extra babies meanwhile the majority of the country going through hardships cannot. Not to mention how many of us struggle just to have simple health insurance. The Palin family can yes be “happy” because they are blessed with a choice to keep and raise a baby while many who have children and work many hours can still be left homeless and hungry.

I’m sitting here in Maine right now, visiting with my Dad. About 40 years ago, he “offered to marry my Mom” upon discovery of my impending arrival. She declined and raised me on her own.

I could share my thoughts on this topic for hours, but the vital point of my experience is that things worked out well for everyone in this situation. My Dad and I are more like good friends than the typical Father and Son scenario and I have a very unique respect for women that I don’t see in many of my male friends.
