you know what’s messed up?
i just spent about $75 on a new French press, Rxs, shampoo, a toothbrush, and toothpaste (sidenote: have you SEEN the toothbrush aisle lately? there are, like, 100000 different kinds of toothbrushes). These are all things I need to live and not be cranky or have raging heartburn or really stanky breath.
walking home i was bitching to myself about how much things cost and all of that, then it occurred to me that I wouldn’t bat an eye about spending the same amount on a pair of shoes or a bag or a night of drinks.
i’m trying really hard to curb my spending and prioritize…really.
Good luck with that. I’m really trying hard to make a lot more money and hire help.

Can someone tell me what exactly what the point of this site is?
Wise living consists perhaps less in acquiring good habits than in acquiring as few habits as possible.
Anyone that knows me knows that the first thing I do with new technology is figure out how to make it play music. So it makes sense that a week-or-so in to my Tumblr blog, I would create an mp3 player for it. So here is my first stab at it. You can see it in action at the bottom of this blog.
To include it on your page, follow these directions:

Awesome! I just added this to http://tracks.tumblr.com/

I just made this screencast for friends who have recently taken the plunge (and changed names) and want to keep an old email address but begin using a new one seamlessly.
This is probably nothing new or exciting to most people here but for folks who are newer to the web, it can be helpful.
Jiffy Lube Fail
via moi
I’ve heard horror stories about Jiffy Lube, but never had a bad experience with them myself until today. I think (really hope) the oil change was OK, but the usual “jiffy” customer service just wasn’t happening at this location (Ocean City, MD). I’ve been to this one and others on Maryland’s Eastern Shore in the past and always been very impressed with the professionalism and courtesy of the folks working inside.
This one was out of my oil weight and tried (successfully) to sell me on using a different weight and, as you can see in the picture, this all happened after considerable wait time. The convenience factor of Jiffy Lube is the only thing that makes me risk going there. One friend of mine had to get a new engine thanks to a Jiffy Lube mistake!
There’s another place I prefer near home that is:
- Faster
- Less Expensive
- Extremely Service Oriented
Jiffy Lube in Ocean City, MD won’t see me again!
CIA Black Helicoptors Today
I’ve heard stories about these on Coast to Coast and read about them a number of times elsewhere. I’ve always thought it plausible that unmarked aircraft runs “black ops” kinds of things (not that I would know anything about this) for CIA, NSA, etc.
I was flabbergasted today when I saw what I presume to be the same set of two (2) unmarked black helicopters, flying low and in formation headed away, then toward and finally (?) back away from the location of CIA, which is just down a bit and across the Potomac River from my home. It’s times like this when I wish I’d listened to my Dad and taken time to learn more about photography because I’d surely own and maybe even have been carrying a camera capable of getting a good shot of them.
They were more sleek and stealthy looking than any helicopters I’ve ever seen!
So, when I got back from my walk, I had a few work tasks to take care of and I then I decided to find out about these things… and here it is: The TRUTH About Black Helicopters!
I’m glad I was able to gain a better understanding of these. Thank goodness for the Internet tubes and all the great information I can find here!
